Welcome to the New Spring Season!
We’re looking forward to another year in fulfilling our main objectives: that of providing social and competitive tennis for all ages and abilities; in a Club atmosphere that’s relaxed and friendly - and for as many people as possible! Yes!
As always - our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helps to make this happen: the Officers of the club; the main Committee; the relocation, social, junior & maintenance committees; our clubmark contact, child protection officer, Wimbledon Ticket organiser, Club consumables coordinator, match secretaries and captains – and of course our head gardener Andy Sawyer.
Our relocation to the Folly Park Sports Centre (!) continues to make progress. As with anything that involves multiple interests and parties, these things take time to get right. As part of the asset transfer process, in April 2012 the Club became a non-profit company limited by guarantee, and midyear we were successful in having our planning application passed for the new site. The application for the development of the existing site should go through in April. Land ownership for the Folly Park site still needs to be transferred to the Vale before actual building can proceed.
So - Watch this space!
