THE CHAMPIONSHIPS
RULES &  GUIDELINES

THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT RULES:

  1. HAVE FUN!
  2. IF IN DOUBT - REFER TO RULE 1

3.  All matches are best of three sets - with tiebreak for each set

4.  Complete your matches before each deadline EOD.

5.  Despite best efforts, it may not be possible to complete a particular match.  A result can still be submitted to Steve Wright through mutual agreement between the parties.  This might be based on partial results; or simply because one party cannot make any of the dates put forward and therefore agrees to forfeit; or you find a stand-in of similar ability to act as your proxy player. If in doubt, check with Guy.

6. If no results have been submitted by the particular deadline, then the winner will be determined by coin toss.

7. Each match has an assigned CAPTAIN.  This is always the top left hand name.  The Captain’s responsibilities include: Contacting other player(s); scheduling the match; booking the court; and posting the results (in clubhouse & emailing Steve)

8. Championships 2018 matches can be played at any time that there is court availability; including Tennis Tuesdays, Friendly Fridays, Match Sat/Sundays. Please note however that on  Social Sundays ( 10.30-12.30pm) DOUBLES always takes precedence over SINGLES . In other words, on Sunday mornings, Social Doubles outrank Tournament Singles!

9. Guy Mobey is the HH (Head Honcho - the Judge & the Jury). Steve Wright is the BS (BigCheese Scorekeeper), and Alan Elbourn is the CA (Chief AdWiser).  Email Guy with your queries (guymobey@yahoo.co.uk ) - and Steve with your results:  s@steviewright.me.uk    or call  01367-241011.
